NEWS
October
We have TWO new things coming out in the next month or so.
Firstly we have a split 7" with our Welsh brothers' in arms Blackeye Riot
coming out on Calculon Records of Sheffield.
It's probably gonna be on translucent red vinyl. Find out how to get it
here!. We're putting a new song called 'The Amputee' on there. We will have
these available on the ASBO tour, as advertised below.

Second we have a split CD with spunky young London upstarts the Birds of Paradise. It's been previously advertised (by myself no less) that this release was to be a BOP/Art of Burning Water split. Not no more, AOBW bailed, their loss is our gain - and what a gain. This will be coming out on Calculated Risk Products of Essex. Product details to appear shortly here. We're putting a new song called 'For All Intents & Purposes (You Are All Already Dead)' on there. We will have these available on the ASBO tour, as advertised below.
Feel free to tell whoever might give a fuck... and get buying, we gotta eat

December ‘04
We reluctantly announce the departure of bass player Tom O’Brien from Charger.
Was it amicable? Was it acrimonious? It is neither, it is none of your business.
We would like to thank him for everything he has done, mostly things that mere
words cannot express. He will bear the scars to his dying day, as will we. There
is no replacement as yet, though former bass player Jez is filling in for us
at the Stoke alldayer we’re playing on the 5th December at the Talbot – we will
be debuting some new material too.
WE ARE NOT SPLITTING UP.
Jay has a new band called Shotgun Justice who are punker than you/your band.
One of Paul’s numerous other bands RedRightHand (who also have members of Narcosis/Hard
To Swallow) will have their debut album out on Dry Run soon. They are slower
than you/your band. Jim continues to be mad as a march hare. As for me, your
humble narrator, I am currently writing the narrative for what we hope will
be a befitting close to album #2. I hear what I want it to be like in my head,
when I close my eyes to sleep. I sleep in the foetal position, if I can sleep
at all.
You can’t beat geography. Ives.

An Update:
We are currently working on new material for our second album to be released next year on an as yet unspecified label. This process is proving satisfactory. We have three songs completed, with the working titles of 'Cult Vs. Cunt', 'Shake Baby Shake' and 'Last Night I Pulled The Trigger On Kurt Cobain'. Due to our commitment to writing, we do not expect to be playing many shows this year, unless we get offered something truly exceptional. We are also exploring different avenues for the capturing of these 'songs' on tape. Status reports will be placed upon our message board when succinct information ready for human consumption becomes available.

We have been forced to cancel their upcoming Entombed shows due to
unforeseen circumstances and communication issues. We've also been forced to

We can only apologise about this. In the meantime we continue to write our second

2004.
The Old Angel show Everything Went Heavier will still be an unmissible
all-dayer featuring John Holmes, 3 Stages Of Pain, Aped Bi Sapien, GU

UPDATES! !
Happy New Year to you all!
Thanks to everyone involved in the My Ruin UK Tour just before Xmas - a lot
of new friends were made, a lot of alcohol consumed and lots of great music
was played and heard! We had a blast! Martin Ives is shaping up nicely as the
newest recruit to the Charger Army and we look forward to showing him off on
the forthcoming Entombed tour which we will hopefully be confirmed to play on
any day now - dates to be
announced asap.
We're headling the Everything Went Heavier all-dayer at Nottingham Old Angel
on January 31st - which also features the tasty sounds of Helvis, Bumsnogger,
John Holmes, GU Medicine, Aped Bi Sapien, 3 Stages Of Pain and more!
We have also officially left Peaceville Records after one album. It would appear
that developing and nuturing a band wasn't in keeping with the label's focus
of re-issuing back catalogue. Perhaps Doom were right?!
Right now we continue to finish writing our second full length album and we're
in talks with numerous labels with the plan to release new material in 2004.
Onwards and upwards!

TIM TO LEAVE CHARGER AFTER UK TOUR
After four years with Charger, vocalist Tim Machin will be leaving the Charger
ranks after the bands imminent UK tour starting on October 4. Charger has always
been about five individuals coming together to make passionate noise. In the
past members have left and the noise has continued to evolve with new people
in tow. This has always been Charger's ethic and will continue to be so in the
future. Another chapter is closed and another one about to start. Following
the tour the band will regroup with a new singer and continue writing of their
second album - the follow up to 'Confessions Of A Man ...'. Another UK tour
will be announced shortly.

UNLEASH BILLY ANDERSON PRODUCED DEBUT ALBUM!!!
'Confessions OF A Man (Mad Enough To Live Amongst Beasts) - April 21.
Charger - the Stoke on Trent sluggers - release their debut album on highly
influential label Peaceville on April 21 2003.
Recorded by legendary San Francisco-based producer Billy Anderson (eyehategod,
Neurosis, Sleep et al) at Mighty Atom Studios, Swansea, Wales, 'Confessions
Of A Man (Mad Enough To Live Amongst Beasts) illustrates a band intent on taking
no prisoners.
Following on from their 00 debut mini-album (released on Undergroove) - Charger
have created eight slabs of impossibly heavy, punk-fuelled sludgecore noise.
This record is your worst nightmares made real, this album is ferocious and
as vicious you'd expect from a band that have slayed their way around the UK
with the likes of Amen, Raging Speedhorn, Minus and soon Today Is The Day (on
a full 36 Date European tour in May/ June).
Opener 'Ultra Violet Flyer' crushes through your stereo like a demon, before
the punked-up dirge
of 'God Made Us In The Image Of His Ass' sees Charger dig into their old-school
anarcho roots.
Live favourite 'Carbon Wings' is venomously laid down on tape, while closer
'A Ventilation System For Cooling Poultry' is a doom-laden sludge fest, that
lays to waste everything standing in its way.
Recorded primarily in one-take, this album also features in-studio breakages
and mayhem to add extra textures to the overall, full-bodied aural carnage.
With 'Confessions ..' Charger have exemplified that right now, there is non-more
heavy or brutal.
'Confessions Of A Man (Mad Enough To Live Amongst Beasts) is released on Peaceville
on April 21. (CDVILEF100)
Track listing: 'Ultra Violet Flyer', 'God Made US IN The Image Of His Ass',
'Pennies For Soil', Chide And Harmonize', Carbon Wings' Airtank Face Pincers',
'-', 'A Ventilation System For Cooling Poultry'
Catch Charger on tour as special guest to Today Is The Day in UK and Europe in May and June.

CHARGER - THE NEW ALBUM!!
Recording of the new album has now finished. Billy Anderson has taken it all
back to the States to master the CD. It's going to be called 'Confessions Of
A Man ... Mad Enough To Live Amongst Beasts.' Jim has described it so far as:
"Horrifically nasty, like a smack-head fighting for a hit, like a chainsaw
ripping through a queue of OAPs on pension day, pure dirty hellish evil! Satan
is indeed shitting himself!"
